Bialka Tatrzanska River – trips with a fishing guide

Białka is a river that arises high in the Tatra Mountains from the merger of Rybi Potok and Biała Woda. Along the entire length of the river, the bed is covered with granite pebbles mixed with gravel. The unique surroundings along with very clean mountain water make it a river with a unique Alpine character. You will not find such a river anywhere else in Poland.

On Białka River, which practically changes its channel every year due to rapid flooding, you can find literally every trout spot described in popular guidebooks. Strong currents combined with numerous rock shelves create countless small ingots on the river connected with small flats. Huge granite boulders and sandstone slabs lying in the riverbed create ideal places for Trouts to live. The banks of the river are diversified, when fishing on a flat stone we can count on frequent bites, after a few steps we will see a fallen snot with branches on it in the water. These are the favorite places for big trout that fight here like nowhere else. Rapid falls, incredibly strong current, numerous holes and bushes will allow our brave trout to quickly free themselves from the hook. It is a treat for anglers looking for a strong experience when hauling in a wild fish. There will also be plenty of peaceful large lakes, where trouts collect flies practically every evening. I will never forget one evening when I came across an intense heat of mayfly in early June. The large, very visible wings of these insects flew like sails on a calm plane. Such a view gives us confidence that we will catch a lot of fish in this place. An hour’s fishing can give us as many as thirty beautiful, fat brown whales. The beautiful spectacle that trouts give on the occasion of such a swarm is remembered for the rest of their lives. Again and again, fish jumping out of the water make your heart beat faster. In addition to trout, there are also large graylings in the river that eagerly collect flies practically throughout the day. Białka is a specific river that is governed by completely different laws than the rivers on which we have fished so far. A nymph that is completely ignored by fish in other waters may turn out to be the perfect lure here. Crystal clear water is not conducive to the development of worms on which trout feed. This is why nymphs led by them are very aggressively attacked even by small trout, commonly known as keychains. The banks of the river are covered on both sides with dense spruce forests, in the background we can see the tops of snowy mountains. Such a picture is the dream of every angler who, in addition to fishing, appreciates the landscape.

Fishing trips with a professional guide, focused on catching brown trout and grayling in the Białka River. Exclusive individual trips from 1 to 2 people. Expeditions lasting from 1 to several days.

Availability of the fishery
Access to the best fisheries is provided by wading in the water in long waders.

Recommended fishing methods
We only fish with fly fishing.

Limits and Restrictions
On our trips to the Białka River, we prefer the catch and release method. After hauling in the fish, we take photos and gently release the fish back into the water. Thanks to such practices, we can even catch the same fish several times.
